INVITATION

The Integrated Chemists of the Philippines and Kapisanang Kimika ng Pilipinas (ICP-KKP) Cagayan de Oro Chapter cordially invites you to the 13th Regional Chemistry Congress which will focus on the theme, “Meeting the Needs of the Present and Future Generations: Food, Energy, and Environment”.

PROGRAMME

The 13th RCC will feature plenary lectures, updates and contributed oral and poster papers on various aspects of Chemistry and allied fields such as food security, food chemistry, alternative sources of energy, environmental science, environmental chemistry, petroleum chemistry, material science, biotechnology applications, atmospheric science and climate studies.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Participants who wish to submit a paper for oral or poster presentation are invited to submit a one-page abstract by 31 August 2007. The presenting author will be notified by 15 September 2007 if the paper has been accepted as well as the assigned category (oral or poster). The presenting author should then submit a four-page extended abstract by 30 September 2007 for inclusion in the proceedings.

SITE

Cagayan de Oro is located along Macajalar Bay in the Central Coast of Northern Mindanao.

It is the regional growth center of Region 10, the business, trade and service center of the Cagayan-Iligan Corridor and home to nearly half-a-million people.

The city is endowed by nature with a pleasant climate all year round. It also gets its share of seasonal rains, but it has not been ravaged by the violence of a typhoon and has no record of any destructive flood.

Recognized as the gateway to Northern Mindanao, Cagayan de Oro is home to numerous agribusiness firms and service industries. The city’s key economic role in the region is very much reflected in its large concentration of hotels, brokerage, banks and other firms and its proximity to industrial centers in the neighboring Province of Misamis Oriental.

Undoubtedly, it is the favorite shopping and entertainment destination in the region. Its ecologically centered growth makes it one of the best planned, most livable, peaceful and safe cities in the Philippines.

Cagayan de Oro, over the past few years, is tagged as the ICT Goldmine in Mindanao and popularly branded as the City of White Water Rafting and River Trekking.
